Horn Aroma Botanicals
At Horn Aroma Botica Horn Aroma Botica has offices in Garowe Hargaisa, Mogadishu and Jigjiga of Somali region of Ethiopia with a number of warehouse facilities throughout these regions. Our main partner Hadi – Mal and its affiliate cooperatives has representatives in many rural villages close to the main sources of the frankincense and other gums and resins in these regions.

The mission of Horn Aroma Botanica is to become a leading supplier of frankincense/myrrh and other herbal and aromatic plant extracts/resins and gums for medicinal/pharmaceutical and fragrance uses in Somalia, Horn of Africa and selected international markets. Our purpose is to ensure fair trade and ethical sourcing of natural and organic raw materials which meet highest standards of quality required by our customers.

About Somalia Frankincense
A better way we supply!
Frankincense and myrrh gums production remains until today an import economic source and a major livelihood sector for the pastoralist and coastal communities of Bari Region of Puntland, who harvest these resins/gums. The gums categorize to various species. Frankincense types include: ‘Maydi’ gum/resin exploited from Yag’ar tree (botanical name: Boswellia Frereana), and ‘Beeyo’ gum extracted from Mohor Tree (botanical name: Boswellia Sacra). Both types of frankincense gums are cultivated annually by successive tapping of the respective trees (see below). ‘Maydi’ gum is often tapped from August to the harvesting period of April-June, while ‘Beeyo’ is tapped in the hot reason from March to August. Myrrh gums, which are commonly associated with frankincense gums, are obtained from Commiphora Myrrha tree and produced for similar purposes.
